We’ve worked hard to find a selection of natural wines to match our food. All our wines are vegan, most are biodynamic or organic. We did extensive tasting to come up with this selection (it was tough!). May you enjoy them as much as we do.
Sparkling & Champagne
Rosato Frizzante, La Jara (Italy)
It’s got to be pink darling! La Jara of course ‘cos you don’t want a headache! We wont go to that other place because their pink fizz is foul!
Prosecco Spumante "Extra Dry" "Terre di Marca" Millesimato, Corvezzo (Italy)
Extremely fine bubbles, a really classy Prosseco with a taste that lingers in the mouth, a real treat!
Champagne Brut, 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs, Claude Carré (France)
The palate is rich, the biscuity flavours good, the white creamy mousse holds well with fine bubbles showing excellent persistence; there is almost a creamy texture lending a mellow, crisp dry finish.
Airen/Sauvignon "Azan" Bodegas Latue 2014 (Spain)
This is a delightful zippy white that’s very easy to drink. The local grape variety, Airen is cut with just the right amount of aromatic Sauvignon to give a really balanced wine. Wouldn’t life be great if you could have a glass of wine like this every time you went out.
Chardonnay "Ekuò" Cielo e Terre 2014 (Italy)
This is simplicity itself. Light, fresh, zingy and relatively light in alcohol, an easy glassful that everyone will enjoy. And importantly, will leave you feeling fresh and clear-headed the next day!
Grillo, Capofeto, Trapani 2014 (Sicily)
This Grillo has a lovely yellow green colour and a wonderfully fresh, almost salty nose typical of Sicily. It’s light yet flavoursome and crying out for a bowl of fresh pasta.
Pinot Grigio Veneto IGT, La Jara 2015 (Italy)
Light, and very pure, you’ve felt good all day so why not treat yourself. It’s ok because it’s not really a drink. Right?
Verdejo "Finca La Sombria" DO Rueda, José Félix Arriezu 2014 (Spain)
Delicious, sumptuous and floral, this has the necessary acidic bone structure we like for enjoyable white wine, but those bones are well fleshed out with limey, almost tropical fruit of tremendous purity. Just as refreshing as a mojito but kinder to your body.
Domaine Cavalier Sauvignon Blanc Chateau de Lascaux 2014 (France)
A wonderful aromatic wine, citrus fruits and grapefruit on the nose are followed by a fresh, aromatic mouth feel. Takes you straight down to the south of France!
Sedlescombe Orion 2014 (England)
Sedlescombe is the oldest organic vineyard in England. Concentrated fresh aroma with tropical, zesty flavours of gooseberries, grapefruit and lemon-grass, enhanced with a delightful 'spritzy' sparkle
Chablis, Domaine Bersan 2013/14 (France)
This Chablis is strikingly brilliant the moment your nose gets near the glass, pure, minerally, almost flinty in character. There’s that rich acid texture that is the true hallmark of this area, and a concentration of fruit that has a lime-like grip. Personally I’d be eating crisps or vege nibbles with this, nothing too posh and let the wine be the star.
Tempranillo "Azan" Bodegas Latue 2014 (Spain)
Juicy, easy to drink, soft tannins and lovely purity. You can’t really ask for anything else. Just about everyone will like this.
Merlot "Ekuò" Cielo e Terre 2013 (Italy)
Quintessential easy-going Merlot that’s perfect if you’re after something light, soft and quaffable. Lovely served fresh at lunchtime or at room temperature with light nibbles, pastas and salads. If only that glass of Merlot you had in the pub last night tasted like this!
Nero d'Avola Rosso, Capofeto 2013/14 (Sicily)
The Nero d’Avola is relatively light in alcohol and weight, making it an easily enjoyed glass, ruby red in colour with aromas and tastes of red fruits with a touch of spice.
Releaf Cabernet, Merlot & Shiraz 2012 (South Africa)
The label might make you giggle but this is really good wine. It has real balance and fabulous depth of fruit and flavour. it really works as a blend. Unoaked, it is rich in cassis and spice and it has that rare quality of coating your mouth in a very satisfying way.
Malbec "Tizac", Catamarca 2013 (Argentina)
It takes forever to get delivery of this wine but the wine is delicious . It’s packed with natural hedgerow fruit, very pure and has plenty of depth. A grand wine!
Rioja Crianza "Quinto Arrio” 2012 (Spain)
Having worked so hard on growing the fruit, there is clear reluctance to use too much oak on the barrel aged wines. Eureka! Sumptuous, intense flavours, just developing those dried, mature fruit characters and just a hint of spicy, smokey oak!
Pinot Noir, Domaine de l'Ocre Rouge 2013 (France)
Delicate, pale raspberry colour to look at, this stunning Pinot has the warmth of fruit of the South with the balance and acidity you’d expect from further north. There’s loads of fruit but an almost spicy acidity to hold it together. Something different but very special, Oh, and very easy on sensitive heads!
Fleurie "Vieilles Vignes", Domaine du Clos des Garands 2011 (France)
A true Beaujolais and a true Fleurie; it has the easiness that wines have that are made from Gamay, the underlying minerality and the pretty, fruity charm that is unique to Fleurie, a touch of blackcurrant jelly-cubes that gives a nice fruity lip-smack at the end too. Very drinkable.
Palido Rosé "Lobetia", Dominio de Punctum 2014 (Spain)
Beautiful vibrant pale rosé in colour with lovely sweet aromas and a long lasting finish, it's very difficult to have just one glass.
Chateau de Lascaux Rosé "Garrigues", Coteaux de Languedoc 2014 (France)
What a treat! Very crisp and dry lively flavours on the tongue, with beautiful dried floral aromas.
